Per new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, declared in a official statement that the prison’s warden was assisting the convict with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for clemency.

The exact content of the “commutation application” are unknown, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for Maxwell and her visitors.

The visits allegedly include a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, she was provided directions about instructing her associates to contact and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement indicates that those writing to her would email documents directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to digitize and send to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Reported

Other privileges allegedly granted to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was more content at the new prison than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also revealed that he had sent a letter to the President, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to the President.

Raskin asked whether he had talked about a possible clemency for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, family or agents have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by 24 November.
